A thoughtful Mood and a 1950's Vintage Sundress.......

Sunday is the perfect day for reflection, for those once fleeting thoughts to fester and develop. For lazy days spent lounging in vintage nightwear reading blogs from the comfort of your unusually cool bedroom.........and our bedroom never seems to get a breeze, so I shall just enjoy it whilst it lasts.

I have been thinking recently about this blog, where it is leading and if my posts seems somewhat erratic to you, the reader?
I don't tend to have any 'plans' as such when I write a post. I guess this is the way its supposed to be - in my 'diary like' blog. I post randomly about my ventures, both good and bad. About the dresses and bits and pieces I pick up. I know I mostly post about vintage and things that bring me joy - obviously vintage stuff brings me joy, how couldn't it? ............but, I ask myself - is it interesting? Do you, the reader of this blog find my posts interesting?  In fact, my Mum brought this to my attention only yesterday.

I think, for me.......this blog is relatively new, a small child finding its way in the world - seeking individuality I guess! Assurance and acceptance............I need to let it develop and grow.

So, I wonder what your thoughts are on this, do you have these thoughts?! Frankly, I'm quite happy to go about my day, photographing things that interest me..........I can't pretend to have it all figured out, because....... that would be a lie. Also, whats the point of writing a diary type blog if you can't be honest?

So for now, whilst I ponder all the important questions of life........here's another outfit post :)

This is what I was wearing on Friday, a recent Etsy purchase in fact ( I gave a little sneaky peek on my instagram the other day).......a 1950's day dress, with a full skirt, for spinning and general posing!
The perfect dress that keeps you cool in this long lasting heatwave. I bought it at a very discounted price, simply because it required a few stitch up jobs. Which I have sewn and repaired already. This makes me happy, as you know - I love a bargain hehe!

As you can see, I have (almost) brought my hair colour back to its normal self......except, it is in such bad condition now I don't dare curl it for a while. Oil treatment later I think.
I'm glad that awful orange has gone.....and it was truly awful! Like an actual satsuma. I yearn for that peachy hair, the perfect shade. Maybe it is not supposed to be. Not yet anyway.

  1. I've just started reading your blog and I like it the way it is! I know what you're saying though. I feel like no one reads my blog, but I just do it for fun. I lost my job at the end of May and I just started doing it so I'd have something to do!

Anyway, I love your dress, you look so pretty! As for the peach hair, you should try some hair chalk. It washes out whenever you wash it out. I use it all of the time. In fact, I'm going to post about it soon. You can have your peach hair without committing to anything or destroying your hair. Here's an orange chalk:

It looks really intense when you first put it in, but if you brush it, it leaves a pretty, subtle wash of color. And if you hate it, wash it out.

    I hope that helps!

  2. It is tricky, and I am too thoughtful today..........
I've not really looked into hair chalk, sounds chalky haha! But I shall have a look.
I've been using Crazy Colour and Directions hair colour, which is 'supposed' to be a wash in/out temporary colour - except the more extreme colours don't actually 'wash out' - its frustrating and I hope my hair recovers from the bleaching! I was reading all your posts this morning and I saw that you had a similar hair problem whist bleaching and conditioning.......I'm enjoying reading your posts dear :) x

  3. Love the dress! I think you are doing a great job on your blog. I just talk about on my blog whatever I am into at the moment. I don't plan mine out very much either. Keep up the great work.

  4. I enjoy your blog! I think it makes sense to just post about whatever interests you that day. I've only recently started blogging and I feel like mine really lacks any sense of identity but yours doesn't seem that way to me at all.
I hope you keep posting what makes you happy, because at the end of the day it should be something you get joy and satisfaction from doing :)

  6. I love all your vintage things. The dresses you wear, the way you do your hair, the retro wall paper you have lining your book shelf, and they way you are so thoughtful. Keep it up.
