Hello and Happy Sunday to you!
On Friday I disappeared for a couple of days to Great Yarmouth, to a resort called Potters; It was a birthday celebration weekend and everyone appeared to be in high spirits. Not my birthday of course, but my Mum's and a few of her friends' as well. Potters were holding a motown, soul type evening; we had a massive five course meal first. Ouchy (especially after eating quite a large picnic a few hours previously) in my not so tummy disguising red dress!
Drinks were also inclusive - of course, I had good intentions of not over-drinking - but being such a lightweight when it comes to alcohol, I do seem to easily break my 'I will not get too drunk and embarrass myself' rule.
Well, I don't embarrass myself per se, but do tend to feel a little out of control after only a glass or two of wine...... singing happily and talking a load of crap mainly!! Normal stuff really!
So after an evening of eating, dancing and drinking we stumbled bare foot, back to our rooms - well, I did anyway! Lots of water, not too much sleep and a shower later, I'm feeling more myself.
So, that was my weekend - well, half of it anyway. I love a good bank holiday weekend....Gav and I are trying to decide what to do today, maybe take the kiddies to the park? Maybe sort the house out - although, that's boring right?
One thing I'm sure of: I'm not eating much for the next couple of days - I may even start my running up again. I feel so sluggish and puffy after all that eating and drinking. I need healthy food, plenty of water and exercise!
Have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend whatever you're up to :)
Sounds like you have had a really fun day! I love the bank holidays, it's so nice to get an extra day with the family x
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely - plus an extra lay-in too ;)
DeleteI used to perform at potters! I'm also a Suffolk girl (hi) It's such a nice place to go for a little trip. So glad you had a nice time! :)
