Vintage Skirts, a Cloche Hat and an 'Allo Sailor'.......

cloche hat 3

I've had this vintage skirt for quite a few years.........but I've rarely worn it - In fact, I'm having trouble remembering if I've worn it at all.  It reminds me of being in school, either as a teacher or a student. It also reminds me of a skirt I had to wear as part of my uniform at my Saturday job working in a shoe shop when I was 15.
Needless to say, this skirt provokes many memories, mainly of authority. Is this a bad thing? Hmmmmm, I don't really have a answer for that one.
I have decided recently that I have a lack of skirts, and tights for that matter........but I found this one lurking, sleepily at the back of the wardrobe. Teamed with a stripy top and cloche hat I feel a little 'Allo Sailor' in this ~ and I like this look, for now anyway :)

Do you have an inspired style right now?

  1. Love the outfit! I'm pretty sure I love everything I've seen you in lol.
Right now I'm trying to acquire more professional looking outfits in preparation for re-entering the workforce when I'm done studying. Its surprisingly hard to find outfits that are office-friendly but also feel true to me. I'm slowly building up a small collection though.

    1. I know what you mean.......I've been expanding my (very small) collection of pencil skirts and shirts - not so much for work, just to wear generally. I think colour is my theme......colour is me. I think your very similar that way.......

    1. Thank you......the t-shirt isn't vintage, just an old Primark one from about 10 years ago, I like the cut and fit..........so it has remained with me :) x
