Pastel Hair Tutorial...........Peach (ish) Style.........

I'd already decided that the next time I coloured my hair, I'd photograph a tutorial. Mainly because I've had endless of people ask me what colour, product and technique I use.

Now, I usually do all this whilst in the shower or bath - but usually the bath, because its just easier that way for me. Obviously for this I decided not be naked to wear a little tube top. Honestly! I was........

Firstly these are the colours I am mixing together......there's nothing really technical about amounts, I really just judge it by eye - and that works for me, most of the time!

I am using La Riche Directions in (left to right) Lavender, Apricot and Coral red.
I usually like to add more Lavender, as this isn't as strong in colour as the other two. But, I couldn't add as much in as I usually do because, of course, I was running out!

I like to use this Tresemme conditioner, because its really good for my hair......it also mixes well with the colours - and its cheap! I like cheap :)

.......also, I use a fancy mixing bowl called a butter dish to mix my colours - 'why' I hear you scream? Well, that's just how I roll.....

A massive dollop of conditioner goes into the dish.....

then I just add the three colours, one at a time.......and obviously if you want a paler hair colour, you just add less dye.

So, my dye is looking like this........it's probably slightly more pink in real life, its difficult to get an accurate picture.

My hair is all most washed out from the last peachy dye, there's still a little at the roots, but we'll ignore that!

Now for a shampoo.....

Rinse and towel dry.....

Comb through! I learned that this is a really important step the hard way, when the colour came out really patchy - it wasn't the best look

apply all over head - and wait.......I only leave it on for around 5-10 minutes, usually the time it takes me to shave my legs and do what ever I need to do in the bath/shower.......and rinse!

I don't bother with another shampoo or conditioner at this point.......I just squirt A LOT of Aussie leave in conditioner spray (smells like bubblegum) through my hair - blast upside down with the hairdryer (on a low heat - my hairs still struggling with its condition)

as you can see, my hair is still a little straw like, but it's getting better - I think (hope)!

A little curl with the tongs - and brush it through!

and a little bit of lippy never hurt :)

and there we have it - peach hair..........well, until it washes out after a few days! I might go back to lilac then for a bit.........maybe!

  5. Gorgeous colour! Try leaving organic coconut oil in your hair overnight to regain condition. Wash as normal next day. Voila! Awesomely smooth, healthy hair!
