I love Lime Crime: the quirky, kitschy packaging and the sweet, cake-like scent of their products.
If you already own the suedeberry or red velvet velvetines from Lime Crime, then you'll almost certainly be wanting to try this pink one too.
I'm not a massive lover of lipglosses if I'm honest, they feel sticky and when I wear my hair down, well, my hair will be stuck all over my face, including those glossed up lips. So I was sceptical about trying Lime Crime's velvetines to begin with.
- I had no reason to be nervous; this product goes on smoothly, thin, like a gloss - however, it sets into a matte, like a lipstick. Giving an beautiful even finish. Similar, I think to some of Mac's uber matte lipsticks ( like Ruby Woo). Achieving that perfect retro finish.
This lipgloss-to-lipstick has a long life on the lips, it has a lip stain quality, meaning there's no need to worry about the constant application of this product. However, this velvetine feels creamy, yet non-drying on the lips. The perfect texture.
I love the colour and feel of this velvetine whilst wearing it; it most definitely fits in with the vintage girl look, but with a fresh modern twist. The colour, a deep hot pink, is beyond vibrant and not for the faint hearted - especially if you're graced with full lips, like me. If you're used to wearing brights then you won't be fazed by this new addition to your lipstick collection.
I'm looking forward to wearing this colour through spring into summer. Definitely a vintage girls go-to perfect pink for 2014.
