Syn Free Mulled Wine......

mulled wine 3
Hello and happy Friday (well technically Saturday now) night.

I've had a crazy week: work, illness, Xmas meals, wrapping presents, buying food, losing track of time and everything else in between.

I've also lost my camera-to-laptop lead somewhere in the house - ARGH - deeming me unable to transfer pictures to my hard drive, annoying as I hate lost items. It's one of those things that wakes me at 4am, meaning I have to run downstairs and look under the sofa for said lost item, because I cannnot cope with not knowing. They probably have a word for this type of behaviour; I call it 'odd'.
So, anyhoo, I now have another lead so, problem solved :)

I hope you're all sorted for the big event next week; It's crept up so fast hasn't it?

I joined slimming world (again) a month or so ago - just to shift (again) the extra half stone or so. My lovely consultant last week gave me a syn free recipe for mulled wine........(if your familiar with slimming world you'll know what this means - if your not then it generally means HAVE-AS-MUCH-AS-YOU-WANT-BECAUSE-ITS-ALLOWED. )

Basically, this recipe has recently replaced my herbal tea in the evenings - it tastes amazing - for "syn free" sake, it's alcohol free.

Here's what you'll need:

A sauce pan / 2 x mulled wine (tea)bags (found in the herb section at the supermarket) / a chopped orange / Cherries and Berries Squash from Sainsbury's / Powered sweetener (I buy mine from Lidl) / Water

Boil the water in the sauce pan, add all the ingredients. Simmer to allow the mulled wine bags to stew. Add the squash and sweetener to taste. Sorted. Enjoy :D

I added a few cranberries, cardamom pods and star anise just for the photographs as they look pretty, but I don't usually bother - too lazy ;)
