Good Morning and Happy Thursday!
Surprisingly, I'm in a pretty fabulous mood today, despite the change in weather: which has nose-dived straight into freezing (ok, so it's not exactly 'freezing' but it is bloody cold). Besides, my heating has kicked in this morning for the first time in months - must be cold, right?
This morning I had to wear my trusted old 60's style swing coat again, as my mission to find a 40's style one is still in progress. Stupidly though, I found one on ebay a few weeks back - it was: maroon red, long (yet, petite), had a faux fur collar trim and it was nipped in at the waist. Why, oh why didn't I put my maximum purchase price higher? I do not know.
In the meantime, I have been looking at my vintage hats; I didn't realise I had acquired quite a collection, from all different era's.
So, this is one of four faux fur hats that I currently own - I swear, I need to sort my whole wardrobe out. It's getting ridiculous now.
I might need this hat soon if the weather keeps on this way.....it's very windy too!
- and this hat would have gone so perfectly with that gorgeous maroon coat. Oh well, I am going to have to try that little bit harder. I hate it when I lose an auction on ebay.
Irritating!!
What item do you regret losing on ebay? Did you ever find that same item again?

Loving the hat! I feel your pain with losing out on that amazing sounding coat. I'm still haunted by losing out on a 1950's novelty print dress featuring illustrations of Alice in Wonderland. It was to die for. Why oh why was I being such a tightarse with my low maximum bid?! xx
ReplyDeleteHang on: 1950's dress? Alice in Wonderland? That is awful, because it sounds amazing!! I feel your loss dear, I feel your loss!
Deletex
I can't even count the times I've lost an auction by 50c or something utterly stupid and sat there kicking myself for not putting my maximum bid that little bit higher. But then you never know how high the other buyers are willing to go so I may not have won anyway. Hopefully you find another coat to love!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not the only one who's done it countless times in fact. Ugh! x
DeleteSuch a sweet hat!
ReplyDeleteI lose things on our NZ version of Ebay all the time, as I am terribly forgetful! X
Loovely! I like the brooches on your collar too :)
ReplyDeletesooo pretty hat ;)
ReplyDeletehow cute. :3
ReplyDeleteI don't have the patience for the whole bidding thing. I know that there are people that refresh in the last seconds and bid slightly higher. Had a bad experience one time with a 30's wedding dress and vowed never again risk a broken heart. ;)
