Polargram - Review!

polargram 1

After faffing around recently with my 1960's Polaroid camera - I managed to convert the battery pack and buy some film. I managed to obtain one decent image out of 10 prints - expensive? Yes! But it is authentic.......well, as authentic as one can achieve with new Polaroid film. I loved the effect of the one decent picture and I realise that I need to get used to the camera to get a brilliant picture everytime.

But......this got me thinking about how cool it would be to have my Instagram pictures printed - Vintage Polaroid Style of course!
So, after a quick google search, I came across two UK companies that offered this service. I will blog about the other one later, but for today I will talk about Polargram.

The Site and the Ordering Process:

The initial land: page is simple and to the point.......asking you to sign into your instagram account to link the photos. You have 3 options at this point. You can choose to order in groups of 12, 24 and 48.... £5, £7 and £10 respectively. I ordered the 12 prints and I wanted to see the print quality before committing to too many initially. Ordering was simple and you could pay via Paypal. Always great, because I hate running off to fetch my credit card - it puts me off!
Also one massive plus for me is the free P&P

The photographs took 6 days to arrive.......I admit, I ordered on a Saturday night, so you could say only 5 days to arrive.
The photo's arrived in a cute little cardboard box and included 2 sets of Polargram stickers.

The Picture Quality:

The pictures have a certain grainy element to them.......I can't tell whether this is from the printing process or the upload to Instagram - either way, I think it adds a certain charm and authenticity to the photographs. The pictures are printed on high quality card and will look stunning on display.
Polagram also has a Facebook page where you can see customer feedback and customer photos of their prints.

All in all, I will definitely be ordering from Polargram again and as a new up-and-coming company I think they are doing a superb job :)
