A Vintage 1960's Surprise and a Little DIY Shelf.......

I love it when you stumble upon a little case, slightly battered, somewhat faded............a little retro, vintage one of course! ..........and your heart misses a beat or two; you know you must quickly touch it, curiosity getting the better of you "Whats inside?" .........then the magical moment (once you've accomplished opening the latches) -'The Big Reveal'

-  this is my mums portable record player from when she was a girl in the 1960's and it was found in the dark depths of my dads shed, inbetween boxes of tools and other such men's things! Of course I clocked and rescued it straight away, then brought it once more into the sunlight.
I haven't yet seen the state of play (pardon the pun) as of yet.........I'm a little bothersome about the electrics of such an old piece and getting blown up isn't exactly on my list of 'things to do this year'. I think I'll have an electrician look at it at some point..........none-the-less, I think it is a jolly good find - thanks Mum :)

So today I have been turning my attention to the 'to do list' I do actually have, on the fridge in fact!
Number 2: Put up Shelves!
Yup, I dug out the tool bag, found the electric drill.......I now have a pink shelf up in our bedroom - very proud! I feel that it's taking me forever to decorate the bedroom, I'll be glad to have it all finished and looking (hopefully) fabulous!
